The opportunity:
Global Talent 2020 are proudly working with one of the UK’s leading Bar and Restaurant clients operating 65+ sites across 4 unique brands. Our client has won the Sunday Times “Best Top 100 Companies to Work For” countless times over the years and has a solid reputation in the industry for investing in their teams and people.
Our client is looking for a passionate General Manager for their reputable cocktail bar and restaurant in the heart of the capital. The venue is popular with a wide range of clientele from students, tourists, locals, and of course very busy over the Fringe festival in August. It offers fantastic cocktails with a brand-new casual dining food menu set in a refurbished and trendy venue over two floors.
The role:
Global Talent 2020’s client will require the General Manager to drive the business, recruiting, training, and managing the large diverse team across the site. You will be responsible for ensuring the management team has all the tools to deliver a high standard of service and operations. This well-appointed food and drink concept will require a proven volume F&B-led General Manager candidate with sound hands-on operational experience with wet/dry services. You will need to be very customer-facing and lead by empowering your team and creating a memorable customer journey. You must possess an eye for detail and have sound commercial nous, cellar management, stock ordering processes, and expenditure controls.
You will manage the staff across all areas as required. Great understanding of health & safety, training, and development of others, as well as possessing first-class communication skills are prerequisites for this diverse and fast-paced role with our well-established and reputable client.

This is a multi-tasking, challenging role, in an amazingly presented environment, so it will need someone used to leading by example in an operation at all times. Quality understanding of all areas of a volume bar and restaurant operations are key skill sets required by Global Talents 2020 clients for this opportunity.
Our client requires the ideal candidate to possess quality people engagement skills, with a “right-first-time” approach with customers, and colleagues alike. This role would ideally suit a current General Manager applicant already managing a high-volume site looking for a change of scene.
