The role:
Global Talent 2020 are proudly working with one of Scotland’s award-winning, fastest-growing restaurant and bar operators. They are looking for a driven Head Chef to join their rapidly expanding company at a unique venue in Prestwick on the West Coast of Scotland, just 30 miles from Glasgow’s vibrant hustle and bustle. The company has been in the Sunday Times Top 100 to work for 5 years running and has a track record of developing its managers through its training academy and is passionate about internal development.
This venue split into two with one being a local favourite, serving fresh tank beer, comfort food, live music and sports events in a comfortable laid-back atmosphere.
The other is an all-day café and restaurant open from 9 am that offers a fresh and warm take on modern dining, with inspiration from around the world, there is a real chance for the ideal candidate to flex their creative and culinary muscles.

The person:
Our passionate, ambitious client at Global Talent 2020, is looking for a real leader in the kitchen, someone who will harness the talent of the brigades, utilise the brand-new fantastic kitchen facilities to their advantage, and provide memorable popular food experiences for its customers, and put the location on the map in the West of Scotland, as a noted place to dine.
The ideal Head Chef candidate must have had prior experience in producing fresh quality food, to a minimum 1 rosette culinary level standard, and had experience with volume restaurants in the high street space. You will need to be highly approachable with your personality, as you will be interacting with other senior department heads, regional management, and all levels of the site’s diverse teams.
Our client requires an ideal Head Chef, who is keen to train, coach and mentor their teams, evolve food services, deliver consistent menus and food concepts, and further the reputation of the business as an Employer of choice.
As the Head Chef, you must be proven to be flexible, and highly adaptive in all your approaches to your team, and also with delivery of concepts developed with the company Chef Director, and Regional Head Chef.
As Head Chef, you must also be someone who not only has strong all-round culinary abilities, great presentation skills, possess food innovation skills, but someone that also an effective manager of the kitchen environment, health, and safety, COSHH, RIDDOR, recruitment, training, and mentoring of others, and possess strong cost & budgetary control skill sets of their area.
