The opportunty:

Global Talent 2020 is working exclusively with our fantastic award-winning, rapidly expanding client across the central belt in Scotland, who are looking for an exciting Openings Manager for their business. We have been engaged to find a highly people-focused, operational multi-tasker with past previous experience as a large venue single-site, or multi-site, General Manager for this new pivotal fast-paced role.

The role:

Our client is looking for an Openings Manager to come on board to start with the pre-opening process and onwards, on all the new venues the client has ready to go for the end of 2022/2023, and beyond. This will be across the width of the central belt of Scotland but may include other excursion areas in the future, in and around the central belt. The client is going through a huge growth period, with sound foundations to achieve these, and to then expand aggressively further in the following 3 years after this again.

The Openings Manager will need to be a creative type, be keen to drive innovation, manage change, live, and breathe the company brand values and integrity. You must be able to strategise, especially in the changing times we live in currently. The Openings Manager will also need to be highly commercial and motivate business opening growth through the new site management, heads of departments, and their respective teams to ensure new venues open with the proverbial bang!

Our client at Global Talent 2020, will need the Openings Manager that is highly adaptive, as no two days will be alike. Example duties could be to establish the property whilst it is being completed, being involved in helping to settle in key staff appointments, or potentially overseeing the installation of IT/PMS systems, set up and implementation of brand ethos, set up of wet/dry services, install SOP’s and then implementation of, health & safety legislative adherence, help deliver training and staff inductions, assist with the operations team with the launch of the business, utilising all the company tools available.

Being a previous operational or large commercial restaurant/bar venue GM, or similar, is a pre-requisite for the role due to our client’s award-winning business model, you must have experience in managing a £75k to £100k per week turnover.

The person:

At Global Talent 2020, our esteemed client is looking for a hands-on manager, who leads from the front, and infuses any team with their passion and positivity on a daily basis. The successful candidate must have volume operational experience in bars and restaurants and also be used to managing Capex projects. The right person needs to have had at least previous 3 to 5 years of experience at a similar General Manager level.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate from the outset their engaging personality, excellent people soft skills, and track record of delivery of achievements within similar like-for-like environments. Scottish market experience would also be highly desirable but is not a deal breaker if the candidate has city center experience elsewhere.
