The opportunity:

Global Talent 2020 are proudly working with one of the Scottish Highlands premier luxury Hoteliers on the stunning Isle of Skye. They are looking for a passionate, detailed orientated Assistant Hotel General Manager to join their respected, and quality-focused operations at one of their 2 Rosette-level hotels. 

The Hotel is situated on a beautiful inlet overlooking the sister isles, within a stunning wooded backdrop location. This award-winning property offers high levels of customer service, luxury at every corner, that also centers on its excellent food and beverage reputation in the area. 

It is part of an evolving boutique collection of Hotels on the Isle of Skye. 

The role:

The role with our client will require the Assistant General Manager to support the dedicated, focused teams across the site, as well as the overall Group General Manager for this luxury appointed food and drink led property. You must be customer-facing, used to leading operations by example, with a keen eye for details, and strong commercial understanding in a challenging, changing marketplace. You will manage the staff across the front-of-house, back-of-house, kitchen, and bar areas as required. Great understanding of stock controls, cellar management, health &safety, training, and development of others, you must possess first-class people soft skills and clear communication skills for this quality-focused and fast-paced role.

The person:

Our client at Global Talent 2020, is looking for a hands-on approach type leader, with a focused, well-organised mind. Positive and driven commercially. This is a multi-tasking, challenging role, in a very fast-paced environment, so it will need someone used to keep their fingers on the pulse of an operation at all times. Quality understanding of all areas of a boutique hotel and rosette level bar and restaurant operations are key skill sets required.

The client requires the candidate to possess first-class people skills, with “right-first-time” engagement with customers, and colleagues alike. A good understanding of P&L and costs is also highly desired. This role would ideally suit a current Operations Manager applicant, looking to step up into an Assistant General Manager role, with a desire to operate in the luxury market segment.
