Job Description

The role:

Global Talent 2020 are proudly working with a beautiful 5-star Historic visitor attraction that is positioned on a beautiful privately owned estate in Scotland. The Sous Chef is an integral part of a dedicated team on-site, with our renowned client. They are looking for a passionate Sous Chef for their quality-focused daytime food operations. The Sous Chef will be reporting to the Head Chef to produce high-quality fresh food for the tourist attraction operations. The role is a full-time position, its prime operational months are between the 01st of April till the 31st of October annually. Either side of this the role will still be employed in the business, with varied working hours of 08:00 am till 16:00 pm or 07:00 am till 15:00 pm. 

The person:

Our quality-focused client at Global Talent 2020, is looking for an experienced Sous Chef to report to the Head Chef. In the absence of the Head Chef step up and lead the small kitchen team. Someone who is approachable, customer-facing, possessing a positive can-do attitude and out-going personality. The candidate must be able to demonstrate home baking experience and a good knowledge of pastry dishes, with a keen interest in sustainability and local produce. You will also be providing hot choices, soups, snacks, salad, and sandwich bars as part of the operation. Knowledge of HACCP, COSHH, vegan and dietary requirements, Natasha law, and pandemic regulations is essential to be successful in this role. The Sous Chef candidate should be wanting to grow and develop in this prestigious 5-star visitor attraction. The ability to train and develop others within the team is desirable. Due to the location of the workplace candidates will require access to their own transport. This would suit maybe someone with a contract catering background.
