The role:
Global Talent 2020 are proudly working with our exciting Scottish-based Restaurant, Bars, and Hotels client for their well-established venue in Edinburgh City Centre seeking a talented Senior Sous Chef to help drive their operation and lead their boutique multi-faceted boutique hotel operation.
The menu is a pan-Asian style concept and very high volume, especially over Summer and Christmas.Â
The person:
Our reputable client at Global Talent 2020, is looking for a solid and passionate leader in the kitchen to help with menu development, lead the team, and deliver a high-quality standard of food across all restaurants that this kitchen caters to, serving 200-300 covers daily. The ideal candidate will need to be confident and good at building and sustaining relationships in an already established team. Their responsibilities include maintaining a high standard of food quality, menu development, adhering to the company brand standards, and H&S standards, and continuing the high reputation of the venue.
The ideal Senior Sous Chef candidate must have had prior experience of producing fresh quality food and had experience of volume restaurants in the high street space. You will need to be highly approachable with your personality, as you will be interacting with other senior department heads, regional management, and all levels of the site’s diverse teams.
Our client requires an ideal Senior Sous Chef, who is keen to train, coach, and mentor their teams, evolve food services, deliver consistent menus and food concepts, and further the reputation of the business as an Employer of choice. Due to the reputation and expectations of the guests, the individual must possess a good attention to detail and be passionate about their food.
As the Senior Sous Chef, you must be proven to be flexible, and highly adaptive in all your approaches to your team, and with delivery of concepts developed with the Head Chef and company Executive Chef.
As Senior Sous Chef, you must also be someone who not only has strong all-round culinary abilities, great presentation skills, possess food innovation skills, but someone that also an effective manager of the kitchen environment, health, and safety, COSHH, RIDDOR, recruitment, training, and mentoring of others, and possess strong cost & budgetary control skill sets of their area.
