The opportunity:

Global Talent 2020 are proudly working with one of Edinburgh’s largest, established branded Hotels, which is looking for an ambitious Assistant Front Office Manager to drive, and support their front-of-house reception, concierge, and night management teams across busy venue.

The role:

The Assistant Front Office Manager will primarily lead, support, and oversee the front office guest services, covering with the diverse team all arrivals/departures, reception services, concierge services, and guest enquiries services, and have the night team report to this assistant head of department role. The front office team comprises a new dedicated team, led by an experienced Front Office Manager, with this important role as Assistant Manager to the busy department.

As part of this quality-focused, friendly team, you will help them to ensure that the consistent quality delivery of guest services is of a luxury-level standard of service, in line with brand expectations, and brand consistencies, and always leaves the customer with a positive customer experience with regards their stay.

You will be used to being very customer-facing, able to communicate concisely, and empathically, and be approachable at all times. It would also be an advantage if you are conversant with Hotel PMS systems, especially Opera or Reslynx. You must possess an eye for detail, remembering the “little things” that make a guest’s stay more welcoming. You will work with other departmental HODs across this unique venue, to ensure the housekeeping across front of house, and public areas are maintained to the highest standards.

Understanding of a luxury 4 star/ 5-star brand standards are essential, strong people soft skills, time management, health &safety, and training team members, whilst possessing first-class communication skills, and organisational skills are highly desired requisites for this modern growing brand.

The person:

A “leader” type, with a focused, well-organised mind, possessing a positive personality, and driven to achieve consistently high service standards and results. This is a multi-tasking role, in an amazing 4-star hotel environment. You need to be flexible and used to keeping your fingers on the pulse of an operation at all times.

The client requires the candidate to possess first-class people soft skills, with engagement with customers, and colleagues alike.
